Driving Instructor Training Course Content

The First Drive South West driving instructor program for Parts 1, 2 & 3 is designed to help you become a qualified ADI quickly and efficiently. Our personalised approach to driving instructor tuition is proven to help you get the skills and qualifications you need.

  • Part 1 is a theory and hazard perception test.
In this section you study the Highway Code and answer detailed multiple choice questions. You will also be tested in this section on how well you react to hazards. Topics included are instructional techniques, the driving test, road signs and procedures.
  • Part 2 is a test of your driving ability.
To become a driving instructor you need to be a skilled and confident driver.  First Drive Southwest has highly qualified Rospa Diploma level instructors to train you drive to a high standard. Using Exeter as a training area, we can take advantage of the variety of roads available.
  • Part 3 is a test of your ability to deliver a real driving lesson.
Part 3 requires a minimum of 40 hours training. The skills and knowledge gained in part 1 and 2 is a great foundation  for part 3.  Our course aims to help you become a driving instructor with a great reputation because you’ll have good coaching techiques and confidence in your training delivery.

“Definately recommend First Drive South West Driving Instructor Training. Very professional and always goes the extra mile.”

Sandy, October 2019

“I’d highly recommend First Drive for Instructor Training and Standards Check training. They are very friendly, professional and patient and I’ve had a great experience with them.”

Ann-Marie, September 2019

“I sought out Will’s help after failing my part 3 twice. Therefore I was extremely worried about my third and final attempt. After observing one of my lessons, he assessed my strengths and weaknesses and we put together a plan for remedial training. In a short space of time, he developed my ability to pitch instruction to the correct level, my coaching skills and my risk management to a level I was much more confident with.”

Darren, March 2019

“Will is an excellent instructor, currently preparing for my ADI part 2 and he’s a great help. Nothing is too much trouble, he’s very clear and supportive and makes things seem so much easier than first thought.”

Selena, August 2018

“I have been to other driving schools but not received the dedication and effort provided here.”

Krishan, August 2018
